I have to agree with Ted. Factually, Bush contributed about 4 Billion (still a lot, and I shall not attempt to defend the indefensible), but Obama has spent nearly that amount in one term!
Technically, of course, all budgets are passed by Congress and therefore it is the Congress (at least half of which was Democrat from 2007 to present) that has spent seven trillion dollars during that time, and refused to even pass a budget during the last three years. That is completely indefensible and unconstitutional.
It appears that all FY2009 debt was recorded to Bush, even though Bush was in office for only the first three months of it. A billion or so should come off Bush and go onto Obama. It doesn’t change the story much, but the Democrats have tried to make their story better than it is, even throwing in the “before surpluses” line for Clinton “peacetime defense spending” for Reagan. The truth is damning enough, they should have played it straight.
