Newt Gingrich won the South Carolina primary handily, but elicited concern from his pastor.

“I don’t know”, said Fr Robert Craig, pastor of St Willard’s church in McLean, Virginia, in a candid interview over several beers at McLean’s Potomac Tavern. “Newt has said in the past that overdoing the political thing was a near occasion of sin, specifically adultery. There is good reason that Callilsta is always at his side; she is probably concerned that Number 4 may be lurking nearby.”

Mr Gingrich’s campaign had no comment.

The Working Poor

“If the US truly values work, we need to support the millions of our sisters and brothers who are low wage workers.  Steps needed include: raising the minimum wage to a living wage; protecting workers from getting ripped off; making it easier for workers to organize together if they choose to; and creating jobs, public jobs if necessary, so that everyone who wants to work can do so.  Many are already working on these justice issues.”
