The Blue Period

So..?

Update: In case people didn’t see it, thought I should repeat this from a comment I posted in the other new-look thread:

Everybody: when I say all I can do is pick from a set of existing
formats, I mean it literally. I can’t change type sizes or anything
else.

I agree the middle column in this layout should be wider but I can’t change it. TypePad does offer higher-price plans that allow more customization, but I haven’t wanted to shell out for one. (hmm…I wonder if I upgrade, modify the design, then downgrade, the saved design would still be available?…that way I would only pay for one month at the higher rate.)

In most browser on most sites, you can increase and decrease the type size with ctrl+ and ctrl- (hold down the ctrl key and press the plus or minus keys ("+" and "-")–each keystroke will increase ("+") or decrease ("-") the type size.

Is This Better?

Trying to read the lengthy comments on the papacy thread below, I realized just how much I don’t like the light-on-dark text. As I’ve mentioned before, there is a very limited number of stock layouts available on TypePad, and to my taste most of them are non-starters, either pale pastels which seem best suited to discussions of herbal tea or blindingly bright ones made for conversations in which the shift key, punctuation marks, and spelling are optional or discouraged. Anyway, here’s one that may prove more readable. Feel free to declare your preference. There’s a variation on this one which is a little more in a green and blue direction.
