Here’s a mild but pleasant surprise, which I’ve been meaning to mention: a very positive treatment of distributism in Crisis magazine (click here to read). It’s a book review by Benjamin Wiker.

I subscribed to Crisis on impulse a year or so ago and have been kind of lukewarm about it. Since it’s generally been aligned with the very capitalist wing of American Catholicism, when I saw this review of a book about the back-to-the-land movement of the ’70s (which really started in the ’60s of course) I braced myself for some heavy sneering. But it’s excellent, and, I think, a good sign.
