As too many did not heed my plea for civility in the comboxes I have turned off comments on the original thread on the Corapi affair. I have defended the use of sarcasm, but I cannot defend nastiness.
Meanwhile, The Black Sheepdog, henceforth known as “The B.S.”, has issued a communique from his mountain fastness, wherein he promises to expand his cause to, apparently, political commentary, while attacking his accuser and generally complaining about how the Church has been so cruel to him over the years. It ends with what sounds like Star Wars music and the crackling of radio static, as if he is broadcasting from some hidden lair, instead of his Montana ranch. From what I hear, it is no bunker.
The whole thing would be comical- the superstar emerging as a comic book superhero- were it not for the fact that it has already done much damage, and is likely to do much more.
Lord have mercy.

Rebuttal to Fr. John Corapi’s departure:

In plain language–you do not know what the hell you are talking about.
I was stunned and shocked how someone can just come out and blare any thing
they wish against a person–and that person at that point is destroyed forever.
The media is more interested in the scandal itself then in finding the truth of this
witch who slammed these false charges agains’t an innocent priest.
You can tell by the writings of St. Augustine or St. Thomas–that by their writings –they were
great and holy people—in the same way that by the lectures of people–what they say,
how it is said and the spirit of the subject they capture–reveals their true sincere
and holy spirit –how can you not know this?
If you are a writer–you should know these things.
Fr. John understands the media better then you ever could–he also understands the
pathetic attitude of some of these Bishops–they haven’t done a damn thing since first
day of lent. If this does not tell you the sorry state of affairs within the Church–then
you have no business making comments about things above and over your head.
The Catholic Church was not going to help Fr. John–he is one of our greatest priests
of our times and a very conservative one and came down very hard on gay priests–which
I believe he was set up–am very suspicious about the apathy of these Bishops who
refused to help him. Even the Canon Lawyers for the Church sided with Fr. John–that
the Bishop broke Canon law.
Sweetheart–you have NOT done your homework. I say you should bow out.
