Joseph Pearce, who has written, among others, books on Tolkien and Wilde, has a new book out, a sort of thirty-years-later view of the ideas in Schumacher’s famous Small is Beautiful called, simply enough, Small is Still Beautiful. There’s a blog devoted to reading and talking through it a chapter at a time over the next few weeks: http://www.smallisstillbeautiful.com, if you’re interested.

Does anyone know why there is nothing happening at the “small is still beautiful” site? Perhaps they think a small conversation is beautiful?
[laughter]
There is something happening–when you follow the link above there’s a Joseph Pearce post dated 12/30. Click where it says “29 comments.” I guess maybe Pearce is planning one post a week on each of the sections with discussion in the comments?
Oh, yeah, now I see it; I was expecting discussions on the various topics listed…
thanks for the headsup.
